The INSTITUTO GEOGRÁFICO AGUSTÍN CODAZZI - IGAC, is the entity responsible for producing the official map and basic cartography in Colombia; developing the national property register, making an inventory of soil characteristics; making progress in geographical research as territorial development support, training and educating professionals in geographical information technologies and coordinating the Infraestructura Colombiana de Datos Espaciales (ICDE).
Consolidating as the producer and supplier government entity of digital and high quality basic geographic information necessary for the integral and sustainable development of the country.
Producing, providing, disseminating and regulating the production of basic geographic information with quality, in support of integral planning and development processes of the country.
Our Goal
The INSTITUTO GEOGRÁFICO AGUSTÍN CODAZZI - IGAC aims to fulfill the constitutional mandate relating to the development and updating of the official map of the Republic, to develop policies and implement plans of the National Government in cartography, agrology, cadastre and geography through production, analysis and dissemination of georeferenced cadastral and environmental information, in order to support the processes of planning and land use planning.
